Hello! We began Day 2 with a new member in our party:
The cili padi BARU REACH 5k solo mmr queen, Chalky-bai!
(She complained that the last post didn't have her at all, so I gave her a super fucking grand intro here la.)
And Sharon returns in her sweat-drenched, freshly Febreezed TA outfit.
*pinches nose*
The events of Day 2 started with Na'Vi on the stage. Sadly, we arrived right after round 1 ended, so all I could get were shots of Dendi's confused face.
So, while waiting for the next game, we went to the Feeding Hall (basically a danky, makeshift dining area with catered food) to hang out.
Aaaand we ran into ddz there. Realizing that although I used to see him so fucking often, we've never really taken a selfie together, so I snapped one for keeps :D
Why hello there, 322-san!
Took a picture with the official cosplayers who were so kind to layan me during their break :D
Then, we met Soo Yee! I only recently got to know her online, so it was a pleasure meeting her in real life for the first time ^_^
Scrubs in the front row, pros in the back
After that, we found out that there would be an autograph session in the outside tent. This was really silly because there was no official announcement, and everyone assumed the sessions were off, due to the fucked up schedule after the Day 1 Disaster.
However, later I found out that we actually missed the IG autograph session that was held earlier in the morning, and I WAS LIKE EUURGGHHH WHYYYYYY QAQ
Anyway, Oling told me that the sessions were, in fact, still ongoing despite the huge delays - the only downside was that we wouldn't find out which team would be there until we queued.
But seeing as this would be one of the few times I'd be meeting international players, I was 100% game for queuing til my feet broke, so I made my way to the tent.
Heard it was to be Rave or NiP signing next...I was super excited to get NiP's autographs in addition to our picture together!
Anyway, the queuing experience was fucking surreal for me, because a whole bunch of people came to ask for my picture again...some were really friendly, and some just quickly snapped a pic and ran the fuck away LOL.
It was quite hilarious actually XD Thank you all again for approaching me! :D
Some smart-ass told me that I should just sit my ass down at the signing tables and entertain the queue...cao ni ma okay.
This is Xiao Loong! I met him every day in the autograph queues. He's even more gung-ho than me LOL
And this fella asked me very seriously if I was 'Cucumber'; I couldn't really tell if he was joking or not.
Anyway after more than an HOUR of standing in the sweltering heat, Rave came in! I was disappointed it wasn't NiP, but I was quite eager to see the Rave players too.
This Sharon wanted to be sassy, so she got all the players to sign her clothes. Yerrr...
Anyway, after that, we headed back into the coolness of the stadium to watch IG play. Chalky is a crazy-mad fan of Burning, and Sharon of Ferrari. I like IG in general, so it was good that we were all rooting for the same team!
Oling translating for ChuaN
Anyway, IG won the match as expected.
I mean how could anyone we were cheering for lose? Right?
But let me tell you hor, these 2 siao zha bor (crazy girls) I was with, they were so noisy that I felt like throwing my shoe at them!
"老公 AHHHHH!"
"好帅 AAAAA!"
"杀他,老公杀!"
"AAAAAAAA! BURNING 哥!"
"你敢杀我的老公?NVM 给你吧!"
Furthermore, we were sitting right behind Empire's manager (IG's then-opponent) and these 2 were cupping their hands around their mouths and shrieking IG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! right into his back.
He actually turned around and glared at them in annoyance, HAHA!
I didn't know whether to feel embarrassed or amused.
But aiya, I'm sure if I were seeing my idol in the flesh for the first time, I'd be as crazy too, so cut them some slack la :P I'm just a hobby player and don't follow the competitive scene, so I was considerably more composed.
UNTIL.
I was snapping the above picture, when Chalky tugged at my arm, jumping up and down, pointing to the side of the stage.
I saw Burning swarmed by a small horde of fans!

Sorry for the shitty quality, it was really dark and the spotlight was blue at the time, so this picture is heavily edited for lighting
I wanted to ask him for an autograph, but he looked like he was going to leave so I thought a picture would be better!
I was like "Burning 哥,我可以跟你拍照吗?!" and he nodded tersely.
He looked a bit stressed to be swarmed by fans, but he forced a smile anyway.
Then, it was Chalky's turn.
The biggest Burning fan I have ever known.
Her hands were shaking SO hard when she tried to take a selfie that the picture came out blurry. I swear she almost cried when she saw it...then she shouted.
"OMG 蒙了,再拍一张!!!PLEASE! "
And then I swear, Burning started smiling like crazy! Between her crazy shouting and him having to bend almost double (he's almost 2 entire heads taller than her) he must thinking, 'oh god what a bizarre little midget...'
And here's the result!
Look at those smiles!
Anyway, she outright SHRIEKED and started jumping up and down and hyperventilating when she saw this picture. He just looked fucking shocked, LOL.
Poor Sharon, Burning hurried off IMMEDIATELY after that scene. CHALKY'S FAULT, RIGHT? HAHAHA
Anyway, you would think mission complete for the day right?
NOPE.
Near the player's private rooms backstage were the toilets.
Chalky and I kept going to the toilet on purpose to see if we could catch any player during their break...and after the last game of the day, WE SAW THEM!
Chalky and I kept going to the toilet on purpose to see if we could catch any player during their break...and after the last game of the day, WE SAW THEM!
Just chilling in their room!
So we were just standing there, a bit star-struck and wondering if we could go in or not, when we ran into Summer, who was working as part of the crew. She was so nice! She helped us ask the other crew if we were allowed to go in and ask for pictures, and we were given the all clear!
SO WE GOT THIS.
Although I felt super psyched to get this pic, the process was actually really painful and awkward for me.
As soon as we knocked and entered the room, I gave the most uncharacteristically meek bow and said:
"对不起。。。我们可以一起拍照吗?"
"对不起。。。我们可以一起拍照吗?"
AND THEN ALL OF THEM JUST SAT THERE WITH BLACK FACES, STARING AT ME AND NOT MOVING.
What the fuck.
Then after a long silence, a couple of them muttered something in heavily accented Chinese. Then I was like, sorry my Chinese is bad...what did you say?
Then their manager felt sorry for us and told them to get up and take a picture with us.
:/
It was quite depressing really, but the manager was really nice and friendly to us! I think he felt a bit bad that his team was so surly to their fans, even right after a victory.
AND THEN.
Burning saw Chalky and recognized her as that fucking lunatic who screams and bounces around, and he started smiling again!
So well, that was pretty much my experience with IG.
It was really a far cry from NiP, who were so welcoming and friendly to their fans, or even Empire, whose signing session I went for after that.
Lengzai Resolut1on!
People told me that I HAD TO take a picture with him, so I asked and he obliged :D
The super embarrassing part was that as I tried to remove my camera from around my neck for a selfie, I almost choked myself because it was tangled with the access pass hanging around my neck. /facepalm
FML
Anyway, he saw that I was struggling, so he stood up and leaned in really close so I could get a picture! Such a sweet dude :D
I wanted to take a picture with Silent too, but he looked a bit grumpy (they just lost) so I didn't ask.
He's so unphotogenic that I never noticed him before, but OMG he's so fucking pretty in real life...he looks like an elf or something, I'm not kidding.
And with that, we come to the end of Day 2! :D
It was pretty uneventful...and by uneventful, I mean there were no exploding PCs or any other shitstorm of the kind.
The Mineski Events Team did a great job in completely replacing all the electronic equipment after the Day 1 Disaster...everything worked fine and went smoothly on Day 2, so kudos to them!
Day 3 was more...interesting. But I'll save that for the next post. Back to Perfect World now! :D
